built a kingdom in the clouds
I tore the window on my mind to sneak into my heart
"What the fuck does that mean Kobe Bryant?"
It means I speak for every human on Earth when I say: LIFE IS TOO SHORT.
What are we if not a thorough web of genuine connections? Anything else is noise that modern life has masked as "not too important" or cynically tagged as "unproductive".
The homeless man knows the streets more than anyone does, only accompanied by his one set of dank, dirty clothes and a caramel-colored flea-ridden stray dog. The marketing executive inside his pool on his second rented mansion, paying off that Porsche 911 and other rentals, waiting for a new watch collection to drop and for his AI (max) subscription rate limit to refresh. Inside thousands of "copy+paste" houses are the middlemen, free to spend 25% of their income on marble-floored or "vintage"-style coffee shops, their vision on another plane off marijuana or shrooms, or to save up for vacation-program in Hawaii, which they've already visited thrice; but only during paid-time-off that's given as a bonus for a boosted productivity metric.
They will never be content. None of them.
Love to hate. Yin-yang. Whatever you want to call it. There is no end-of-the-stick that is truly fit for us. We were made for balance, not for obliteration of our once healthy, self-constrained and child-like free will; an illusion of ever-increasing false outputs via productivity metrics.
A question for oneself. What is it you desire the most?
Money? Endless sex or short-term passion? Long-term connection? Power? What kind? Do you desire to be no one and forgotten, to be revered beyond your legacy, or is it a mixture of things you don't know yet?
What. Is. Stopping. You?
Plan for yesterday. Plan for today. Plan for tomorrow. Just don't let your life play on autopilot. I promise you, planning CAN set you free, if you trust it.
We live inside a beautiful, handcrafted canvas. How can the birds chirping on top of a tree be as dazzling as the sunlight that reflects its shine on them?
We can never answer these questions unless we spend thousands of hours thinking about the internal state of mind that is shared between all humans.
LIFE IS TOO SHORT.
Confess your love. Create with no expectation of industry-grade output, but do perfect it for your passion's sake. Plan with intention. Go outside to interrupt comfort. Read a book a day or 10 books in one day. Hike for hours until dopamine hits you at the top.
Shower with hot, then cold water, while dancing to jazz house and pretending you're on a rave DJ set on a rainy day.
Find experiences where you shouldn't + where you least expect to.
Do all of these things--and if they don't work for you--do the opposite.
No matter if others see it as small, or too ambitious; There exists no guide on how to live life but daily routines based on feel to avoid a depressive, permanent comedown.
LIFE IS TOO SHORT. That makes it worth living.
I thank mortality.
